Italian Aged Care in Melbourne Cura per Anziani Italo-Australiani

Aged care that speaks Italian, cooks Italian and understands the rhythm of Italian-Australian family life. My Evervale serves Coburg, Brunswick, Preston, Reservoir, Bulleen and the rest of Melbourne’s Italian community.

For the post-war generation, in their own language

Many older Italian-Australians arrived in Melbourne in the 1950s and 60s. They built suburbs, families and businesses. As they age — and especially as cognitive decline takes hold — Italian becomes the dominant language again. Care without Italian leaves them isolated; care with Italian feels like home.

What we provide

  • Italian-speaking carers across all our services
  • Italian cooking — fresh pasta, sauce simmered properly, espresso, biscotti, lemon and basil from the garden where possible
  • Catholic practice support — Mass attendance, rosary, in-home altar care, end-of-life sacraments
  • Festival and saint-day recognition — Festa della Repubblica, Ferragosto, San Giuseppe, Christmas Eve La Vigilia
  • Family-centred decision making — we expect adult children and grandchildren to be at meetings
  • Coordination with Italian-speaking GPs and parish priests across the inner north

Suburbs we focus on

  • Coburg — long-established Italian community
  • Brunswick — original Italian settlement, Lygon Street
  • Preston
  • Reservoir
  • Bulleen — second major Italian hub (Veneto Club)
  • Templestowe
  • Across the north-east Italian belt

Working with Italian-Australian families

The Italian family expects to be at every meeting, every decision, every meal. We don’t push back on that — we structure care around it. Adult children working full-time can rely on us to handle the daily activities they can’t be there for, while staying central to all decisions.

Catholic spiritual care

We support attendance at parish Mass, regular communion, confession with a familiar priest, rosary, and end-of-life sacraments. We coordinate with parishes including Our Lady Help of Christians (Brunswick East), San Giorgio Martire (Brunswick West), St Joseph’s (Coburg), Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (Kensington), and Italian Catholic Federation chaplains.

The Veneto Club, the bocce club, the Friday market

Maintaining community connection is care. We support transport to the Veneto Club, Carlton Italian-language radio (3ZZZ), Sunday lunches with extended family, and weekly visits to Preston Market or the Brunswick Italian deli your family has shopped at for forty years.
